Chalk the Sidewalks

“Chalk the Sidewalks” is a project developed by the Junior Auxiliary of Columbus Crown Club. In the days before local students go back to school, JACCC members and Junior Auxiliary active members use chalk to write positive messages and fun drawings on the sidewalks of Columbus Municipal School District’s elementary schools and Lowndes County School District’s elementary schools.

“We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to complete our ‘Chalk the Sidewalks’ project for the second year,” said Crown Club President Natalie Bishop. “Last year, we received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community and school administrators, which allowed us to increase our number of local elementary schools chalked to twelve.”

The goal of this project is to bring positivity, encouragement, and a little bit of fun to the start of the school year.

Crown Club, sponsored by Junior Auxiliary of Columbus, is a service-based organization with a purpose of providing local high school girls an opportunity to grow through service to the local community.
