2024 Charity Ball Queen:

Rayne Allen Phillips

Queen Rayne Allen Phillips is the beloved daughter of the late John Douglass Phillips and Renee Phillips, as well as the late Katherine Langford Phillips. She has a younger step-brother, Garrison Till Reedy.

Rayne attended Annunciation Catholic School until 7th grade, then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Heritage Academy in 2020. She played Heritage Volleyball for six years and engaged in extensive volunteer work, including with SCA Social Club, National Beta Club, Loaves and Fishes, the Lowndes County Humane Society, and post-2020 Columbus tornado clean-up efforts.

Rayne is a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and attended First Methodist Church during high school. Rayne has journeyed three times to Polo, in the Dominican Republic, where she worked to build houses and facilitate Vacation Bible School programs. She also traveled to Eleuthera, in the Bahamas, to contribute to community development efforts.

The Queen will graduate in May from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, with majors in Marketing and Business Administration. Her concentrations include Integrated Digital Marketing, International Business, Management, and Finance. Rayne has consistently demonstrated her dedication to academic excellence. Earning a place on the Dean’s List for all eight semesters has been a testament to her diligence and work ethic.

In addition to her academic achievements, Queen Rayne has actively contributed to the university community as a member of Phi Mu, where she has been involved in various charitable endeavors, including supporting Le Bonheur, the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH), and the Sally Kate Winters House. Rayne is also currently serving as the 2023-24 Sigma Chi Sweetheart.

In loving memory of Rayne’s dear parents, John Douglass Phillips and Katherine Langford Phillips, Rayne is reminded of the impact they both had on many people in the community through their love and support of the Junior Auxiliary of Columbus. Rayne’s mother, the late Katherine Phillips, was a Junior Auxiliary Life Member, serving as an Active Member from 2004 to 2009. Rayne fondly remembers her mom working on JA projects such as Imagine U and In My Shoes. Rayne’s father, the late Doug Phillips, loved Columbus and generously shared his time, leadership talents and treasure with many organizations including JA. Doug and Katherine indelibly marked Rayne with a heart for service and a deep caring for those in need.

Rayne was a member of the 2020 Charity Ball Court, the first court to not host a balldue to COVID. Queen Rayne is the great-granddaughter of the late Bill Phillips, who reigned as the 1979 Pilgrimage King and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Leyton Phillips, Charity Ball King, 2015, Ms. Lucille Andries Phillips, Ms. Margenia Halbert Murphree, and Ms. Barbara Till Mullins. Her paternal grandmother, Lucille Phillips, is a Life Member, and her step-mother, Renee Phillips is an Active Member and the current Education Chair for the Junior Auxiliary of Columbus.
