Art Reach

Junior Auxiliary of Columbus is proud to announce the return of Art Reach, a project developed in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that provides bags of individual art and school supplies to local elementary schools.

As a result of the pandemic, new CDC guidelines dictated that students could not share classroom supplies. Through Art Reach, every elementary student in the Columbus Municipal School District will receive their own supplies.

Junior Auxiliary of Columbus fourth year active member Casey Thomas chairs the project. Previous project chair, Alison Alexander states, “this is a wonderful project developed during the pandemic.” “We believe it is necessary to continue supplying art and school supplies to children in the Columbus Municipal School District. I am glad that we can resume meeting the needs in our community.”

Junior Auxiliary of Columbus will spend several days in July and more than 200 total hours packing, organizing, and delivering nearly 1,700 bags of supplies.
